I graduated B.Tech from one of the premier institutes of India, National Institute of Technology(NIT) Rourkela. I was proud to use an Er. (short of Engineer) tag before my name. Then why I am decoding the word MBA now. After 8 years of my engineering why I opted for an MBA? Will MBA land me in a good career position? Can MBA land me in a high CTC package? Does MBA support my entrepreneurial journey?
No to all question I asked myself. There are a few quotes by famous people to understand the concept of management.
Management is above all, a practice where art, science, and craft meet.
Henry Mintzberg
It’s not about money. It’s about the people you have, and how you’re led, and how much you get it.
Steve Jobs
Now the question is when to pursue an MBA? Should you join fresh after college or join with some work experience. I would strongly suggest having at least 3-4 years of diverse work experience before joining an MBA program. I would strongly recommend going for a full-time 2 years to taste the real flavour of the MBA. If you miss this, then you can join any working executive MBA programs provided by the elite B-Schools across India.
In one of our next article, we will provide more about different programs across India.
